Your Child’s Safety Comes First
Every decision in Kiplrn — from AI design to data handling — prioritizes your child’s safety and privacy.
🛡️ Child Safety Standards
No Ads — Ever
Kiplrn will never display advertisements. Your child’s attention belongs to learning, not advertisers. This is a permanent commitment, not a feature that changes with a business model pivot.
No Data Selling
Your child’s learning data is never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used for advertising purposes. Learning data exists solely to improve your child’s educational experience.
No Social Features Between Children
There is no chat, messaging, or profile visibility between children. The family leaderboard is visible only within a single family account. Your child interacts only with the AI tutor.
No External Links
All content is self-contained within the platform. Children are never directed to external websites, videos, or third-party content. The learning environment is fully controlled.
🤖 AI Safety Guardrails
Age-Appropriate Responses
Every AI response is calibrated to the child’s age. A 5-year-old receives simple language with encouragement. A 14-year-old receives mature, challenging content. The AI never uses vocabulary or concepts beyond the child’s developmental stage.
Content Filtering
The AI system prompt enforces strict content boundaries. No discussion of violence, drugs, explicit content, or self-harm. No political opinions, religious instruction, or controversial social commentary. Inappropriate questions are redirected gently.
Prompt Injection Protection
The system is hardened against attempts to manipulate the AI into generating inappropriate content. Students cannot override safety instructions through creative prompting.
Redirection for Sensitive Topics
If a child asks about topics outside the AI’s educational scope — medical questions, legal issues, or emotional distress — the tutor responds with: “That’s a great question for a parent or teacher!” and gently redirects to learning.
👤 Parent Controls
PIN-Protected Dashboard
The parent dashboard is protected by a 4-digit PIN that children cannot access. View session history, set time limits, manage profiles, and review every interaction.
Daily Time Limits
Parents set maximum daily screen time per child. Default limits are 60 minutes for ages 4–9 and 90 minutes for ages 10–15. Configurable from 15 to 120 minutes.
Break Reminders
Automatic break reminders appear every 20 minutes for younger children and every 30 minutes for older children, encouraging physical movement and eye rest.
Full Session Visibility
Every session is logged with subject, topic, duration, mode, and XP earned. Homework Coach sessions show the complete guided process — parents can verify that learning occurred, not just answer-copying.
